Privacy Policy

Last updated: 4 October 2026

This policy explains what personal data BetterJobs collects, why, and the choices you have. It is written to meet India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

What we collect

  • Job seekers: name, email, mobile number, resume file and the details we read from it (skills, experience, education, city), and your applications.
  • Employers: contact person, company name, email, mobile number, billing and GST details, and the jobs you post.
  • Usage: pages visited, approximate city from your IP address, and how you reached us (e.g. search or an ad campaign).

Why we use it

  • To create your account, match you with jobs or candidates, and process applications.
  • To prevent fraud — for example, blocking fake email addresses and limiting automated activity.
  • To issue GST invoices and meet legal obligations.
  • To understand which channels bring people to BetterJobs and improve the service.

Who can see your data

  • When you apply to a job, that employer sees your profile and resume. Your phone and email are shown once they shortlist you.
  • Your profile appears in the resume database only if you turn this on. You can turn it off any time from your profile.
  • We do not sell your personal data.

Security

Passwords are stored as one-way hashes, connections are encrypted (HTTPS), resumes are stored privately, and access by our team is permission-controlled and logged.

Your rights

You can access, correct or delete your data, and withdraw consent, from your dashboard or by writing to us. We respond within 30 days.
