Onboarding Policy

An onboarding policy sets out how new employees are welcomed and integrated — from pre-joining communication and joining documents to PF/UAN and ESI enrolment, IT access, induction, buddy support and 30-60-90 day check-ins. It gives HR, IT, admin and managers clear roles so no new joiner has a chaotic first week.

Frequently asked questions

What documents are collected at joining in India?+

Typically PAN, Aadhaar (masked copy), educational and experience certificates, relieving letter, bank details, photographs, and UAN if previously employed. Collect only what you need.

How long should onboarding last?+

Formal induction may take a day or a week, but effective onboarding usually runs through the first 90 days, with check-ins at 30, 60 and 90 days.

Is POSH training part of onboarding?+

It is good practice to cover the POSH policy and how to reach the Internal Committee during induction, so every employee knows their rights from day one.
