Frequently asked questions

Can a hospital rotate nurses between departments?+

Yes, if the appointment letter permits rotation. Ensure staff are competent and trained for the unit before posting.

What happens if a doctor's registration lapses?+

The doctor should not practise until it is renewed. The appointment letter should require immediate disclosure and may allow suspension of clinical duties.

It depends on hospital policy. Many salaried roles restrict or require approval for private practice; state it in the appointment letter.
