Frequently asked questions

What should a school appointment letter say about POCSO?+

It should require the staff member to follow the school's child protection policy and report any suspected sexual abuse of a child immediately through the designated channel, as the law requires.

Can a teacher resign mid-session?+

Yes, by giving the notice in the appointment letter. Many schools request that resignation take effect at the end of a term to protect students.

Is a separate letter needed for non-teaching staff?+

This format works for both; just change duties and workload. Child protection terms apply to all staff.
