Frequently asked questions

What should a workplace conduct policy include?+

Purpose, scope, expected behaviour, prohibited conduct, reporting channels, non-retaliation, investigation approach, consequences and review. It should link to POSH and disciplinary policies.

Is a conduct policy the same as standing orders?+

No. Standing orders are statutory service rules for covered establishments. A conduct policy supplements them and must not conflict with them.

Does the policy apply to remote employees?+

It should. State that it applies to conduct during work, on company platforms and at work-related events, wherever employees are located.
