1. Purpose and Scope

This handbook explains the main rules and facilities at [Plant Name]. It applies to all employees, trainees and, for safety rules, contract workers and visitors. The certified standing orders and company policies prevail if there is any difference.

  • Punch in and out on the attendance system every shift; proxy punching is serious misconduct.
  • Shift changes and weekly off follow the roster on the notice board.
  • Overtime must be approved in advance by the supervisor and is paid at the legal rate.

3. Safety First

  1. Attend safety induction and refresher training.
  2. Wear the PPE required for your area: safety shoes, helmet, goggles, gloves, ear protection.
  3. Never remove machine guards, bypass interlocks or work on equipment without lock-out tag-out.
  4. Know your nearest fire extinguisher, emergency exit and assembly point.
  5. Report every accident, near-miss and unsafe condition to your supervisor at once.
  6. Smoking, alcohol and drugs are strictly prohibited inside the premises.

4. Plant Rules

  • Carry and display your ID card at all times.
  • Material can leave the plant only with an authorised gate pass; personal bags may be checked.
  • Mobile phones and cameras are not allowed in [Restricted Areas].
  • Keep work areas clean as per 5S standards.

5. Welfare and Benefits

Facilities include canteen, drinking water, washrooms, first aid and [Transport / Creche / Rest Room]. Employees are covered under PF, ESI (if eligible), statutory bonus and gratuity as per law, and group accident insurance as per policy.

6. Leave and Holidays

Leave with wages, casual and sick leave and national and festival holidays are as per the Leave Policy and applicable law. Apply for planned leave in advance through your supervisor.

7. Conduct, Grievance and Discipline

Treat colleagues with respect. Sexual harassment complaints may be made to the Internal Committee under the POSH Act 2013 at [IC Contact]. Other grievances go to your supervisor, HR or the grievance committee. Misconduct is handled as per the standing orders, with a fair chance to explain.

8. Responsibilities and Review
